24/11/2005 - Experience an ecotour to a former landfill site

On December 2, 5 and 8, 2005, visit the Technology Showcase and the CESM

As part of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, Montréal 2005, the Centre d’expertise sur les matières résiduelles (Centre for waste expertise - CEMR) is pleased to invite you to visit the Complexe Environmental Saint-Michel (Saint-Michel environmental complex - CESM). A former urban landfill site, the CESM is the largest revitalization project currently underway in North America. Once completed, the complex will be a vast park, hosting cultural, recreational, sporting and commercial activities.

The visit, which is part of the Conference’s parallel events, includes:

-The CEMR Technology Showcase, The world crossroads for Québec waste management innovations
--This business showcase for Québec companies presents the latest waste management technologies and processes.

-The Complexe environnemental Saint-Michel (CESM)
--The bus, which follows the same route as the waste itself, will help visitors discover the many on-site Québec waste management innovations, including, among others, biogas recovery and waste treatment.

-TOHU, la cité des arts du cirque, An exceptional, world-class, cultural project
--This green building, designed by a cultural organization seeking to contribute to the community in which it thrives, respects all of the standards established by LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
