Inter-university network
I.C.I
Environnement is a network of 14 Quebec universities that are
involved in science and technologies, as well as in environmental
engineering and sustainable development.
I.C.I Environnement provides human, technical and material resources
to industries and manufacturing companies seeking university
expertise and services that are adapted to their specific requirements.
I.C.I Environnement also targets various institutional and government
agencies, socio-economic organizations as well as research centres
that use a multidisciplinary approach in their efforts to resolve
various environmental issues.

questions regarding the various training programs offered by
any of I.C.I. Environnement’s member universities? Are

offices or laboratories owned by I.C.I Environnement?

Fields of activity
With its primary focus on environmental issues and sustainable
development, I.C.I Environnement designs, develops and conducts,
either alone or in conjunction with various partners, numerous
projects in training, research and development, innovation,
technology transfer and competitive intelligence.
The inter-university network benefits greatly from the diversity
of expertise and the material resources available within Quebec’s
universities, as well as from the international networks with
which they are affiliated.
Regardless of the subject of your project – air, water,
land, waste materials, environmental management or sustainable
development – I.C.I. Environnement can make a significant
contribution to ensure its resounding success.
The network is also striving to propel environmental expertise
in Quebec onto the international scene by joining forces with
innovative partners interested in developing technologies and
know-how that can be exported and marketed.
Waste management
I.C.I. Environnement is one of the three co-founders of the
Centre d’expertise sur les matières résiduelles,
together with Réseau Environnement and the City of Montreal.
I.C.I. Environnement supports the Centre’s mission and
provides university-level expertise in the various aspects of
issues related to waste products.
Each I.C.I. member university specializes in specific waste
management issues. Consequently, certain research units are
in charge of the technical aspects of waste management, while
others focus more on the social and economic issues.
I.C.I. Environnement provides a forum for discussion and analysis
on waste management issues..
